This Week: Workouts, Another Busy Week & Things I’m Looking Forward To

Good morning! I’m here! On a Monday! I can’t believe I only posted TWICE last week. I wanted to post, I really did, but the time just wasn’t there. I really tried not to stress about it because at the end of the day, I blog for FUN, not because I have to or because it’s a job… I do it because I love it and if there are weeks when I can’t fit it all in, blogging sometimes just has to be the thing that goes to the back burner.  I’m happy to be back this week, though- I love sharing things with you!

Speaking of being busy… I totally “hit the brick wall” on Thursday night. I think between ending my job, starting a new one, going away… all while still teaching and working out and blogging… I just hit my limit. Changing jobs isn’t just hard because it’s a new schedule to get used to, it’s hard because it’s mentally and emotionally draining. So far, I’m totally loving my new job and the people I work with, but the days are long! I’m up at 6 or 6:30 every day to start work at 7 or 7:30- Thursday’s I leave the house at 6:30am and get home at 8pm- no wonder why I’m tired!

So, with that said, I spent my weekend home in Maine to relax and recharge- it was perfect!

Last Week’s Workouts

  • Monday- I took a rest day on Monday since we were flying back from Miami and I wanted to sleep instead of workout.
  • Tuesday- I ran 4 miles after work and then did a 20 minute core workout. Felt great.

IMG_7655

  • Wednesday- I ran 3.5 miles and then taught my UXF Burn class. I did most of the class with my members because I loved the workout I planned. I was SORE on Thursday.
  • Thursday- I taught fun superset workout with a new cardio format I stole from Athena, which everyone loved. Thanks, girl! My kickboxing class was small, but it was a good one!
  • Friday- I took another rest day on Friday. I was really sore from my workouts earlier in the week.
  • Saturday-  I taught my cardio kickboxing at the Oak Square YMCA. The summer (smaller) crowds are the norm these days, but it’s ok- we still got in a good (and super, super sweaty) class!

IMG_7673 IMG_7675

  • Sunday- It was such a beautiful day when I got up that I decided to go for a run. I just did a 20 minute run then did exercises like walking lunges and squats up and down the driveway, burpees, pushups and some standing ab exercises. Solid workout!

This Week’s Workouts

  • Monday- I’m finally back to teach my Monday morning Muscle Work class. I’m excited to be back!
  • Tuesday- I will probably run after work and then do some core stuff.
  • Wednesday- I will NOT be teaching my UXF Burn class! I have a work bowling outing in the afternoon so Kate will be subbing… she knows to kick your butt like I do 😉 I’ll either workout before work or go to the gym during my lunch break.
  • Thursday- I’ll teach SHRED and Cardio Kickboxing
  • Friday- Rest day since I’m subbing both Saturday and Sunday
  • Saturday- I’m subbing the 10am SHRED class at the Central Square BSC- I hope my regulars from Wednesday and Thursday come 🙂
  • Sunday- I’m subbing the 9am UXF Burn class at the Allston BSC- hope to see some familiar faces there!

Things I’m Looking Forward To

Even though this week is another busy week, it’s all fun stuff! Monday night I am going to dinner with RM’s sister-in-law. She is just a year older than me and we get along really well, so it will be fun to catch up over some food and drinks. Wednesday is my company’s bowling outing, which will be fun because I’ll get to meet people and hang with all the people I already know. Friday night my plan is to swing by my friend Jen’s place for a drink on her porch and then Saturday RM and I will head up to Exeter, NH for a party at Christy and Jaime’s. On the way home, I’ll swing by Liz’s for a gym friends BBQ. Finally, my friend Jess is having her baby shower- Jack and Jill style- at the Shake Shack in Harvard Square on Sunday, which should be a blast. I’ve been looking forward to all of these things for a while!

Also! I wanted to give you a garden update! My dad was so sweet and make the trip down to my apartment last week to do the planting for me. Look how good it looks!

IMG_7657

He’s making me a map of what is planted, but I know he did kale, green beans, carrots, onions, peppers, tomatoes, Brussels sprouts.. and I think something else. I’m so lucky that he is a. so good at gardening and building stuff and b. he wants to do it for me. I’m seriously SO excited for everything to start growing this summer so we can have lots of fresh veggies to eat!

Questions for you: How were your workouts last week? What was your best one? What are you looking forward to this week?

This Week {A day late… again…}: Workouts, back to a normal schedule and things I’m looking forward to

Hey everyone! I feel like I haven’t popped in to say hi in a while- life has been a bit crazy lately, but it’s all good, fun and exciting stuff so I can’t really complain! Did you catch the awesome guest post from Tony that I posted on Friday? Here it is if you did- it’s worth a read: Guest Post: How To Prepare For A Triathlon.  I just got home from the most wonderful little weekend getaway with RM, so I can’t wait to catch you up on that. But first- the workouts. I ended up getting in 2 workouts while away, which I wasn’t planning on or expecting, but since RM wanted to sleep in and I was up, bright eyed and bushy tailed ready to go, getting in a quick workout was a great way to give me something to do while I let him sleep.

Last Week’s Workouts

  • Monday- Since it was my first day of work at my new job, I got up and did my workout in the morning. I was really sore from my 6 mile run the day before, so I just did this HIIT scorcher from the Fitnessista before doing some strength circuits.
  • Tuesday- I got up to workout before work again so that I could get a pedicure after work. I ran a tough, sucky 3 miles (how is it that I had just ran SIX miles that felt great, yet last week my 3 mile run was like the death of me?!?!) and called it a day. I ended up walking for about 30 minutes during lunch which was a nice break!

walk

  • Wednesday- I ended up running 4 miles on the treadmill for National Running Day before I taught my UXF Burn class. Was a great day of workouts!

national running day

  • Thursday- I taught SHRED and Cardio Kickboxing. I used a new format in SHRED that, in my head, was perfectly easy to understand, but when I went to teach it, the members were so confused and couldn’t remember what to do. I hate that! I set up 8 stations with various things at them: medicine balls, BOSU balls, stability balls, weights, towels, steps, etc. and then at each station I wrote down 3 exercises for the small groups to do. They did each for 60 seconds and then again for 30 seconds before moving on to the next station. I loved the workout, but unfortunately wasn’t able to do it all with them because it was a bigger group and they needed lots of assistance. That left me plenty of energy for my kickboxing class, though!
  • Friday- Rest day. We had a 9am flight and I had been up early every day so I decided to sleep instead of workout. Good decision on my part. We ended up doing a decent amount of walking between the airport and walking around Miami.
  • Saturday- I got up and ran a SWEATY 3 miles on the treadmill (and walked a half a mile) before completing a small circuit and some extra core work. Great way to start the day… and earn my poolside cocktails 😉 RM and I also went for a nice walk!

miami workout

  • Sunday- I woke up feeling surprisingly good after having drank a lot the day/night before, so I went to the gym for a quick workout. I did 10 minutes on the treadmill and then some supersets- I felt it yesterday!

This Week’s Workouts

  • Monday- I didn’t do anything yesterday. We wanted to get to the pool early and I was tired so I decided to sleep.
  • Tuesday- My plan today is to get a 3-4 mile run in after work and then some core exercises.
  • Wednesday- The usual: probably a run and then teaching UXF Burn.
  • Thursday- Teaching SHRED and then Kickboxing.
  • Friday- I might rest on Friday pending on how I feel. My new work schedule is working from home on Mondays instead of Fridays so I’ll be at the office. I may try to get in a walk during lunch.
  • Saturday- I’ll be at the YMCA teaching my cardio kickboxing class!
  • Sunday- I’ll be up in Maine (again…) for Father’s Day so I’m sure I’ll get something in!

Getting Back on Schedule

Over the past 3+ weeks, my schedule has been, well, non-existent. Between ending my old job, taking a week+ for myself, starting a new job and then going to Miami, I’ve been all over the place and any sort of routine or schedule has been completely thrown to the wayside. I have to say, though, it’s been really nice! My weeks were so regimented: breakfast was the same, lunch and snacks were the same, I had the same stuff after work, etc. It’s been a good change to not be on a schedule and it’s given my body time to get off of all the normal things it eats and does. With that said, though, I’m ready to be back on some type of schedule- I’m ready to tone it down on the eating out and can’t wait to be making my lunches again and cooking up nice, healthy dinners!

Things I’m Looking Forward To

I’m actually excited to be back in the office this week. I’m really enjoying my new job thus far and can’t wait to be in the full swing of it. I’m also looking forward to Friday night because the Shapleigh girls are having a night out! I bought a Groupon for the Brahmin a while ago so we are going to go for dinner and a few drinks. Lastly, even though I’ve been home to Maine so much lately, I am looking forward to spending Father’s Day with my dad and going to Tucker’s 1st birthday party! And, let’s face it- I love going to Maine!

Questions for you: What was the best workout you had last week? Did you participate in National Running Day? What are you looking forward to this week? Do you find yourself eating the same thing day after day during the week?

Guest Post: How To Prepare For A Triathlon

Good morning, friends! While I’m en route for my weekend get away to Miami, I thought it would be fun to have a guest post for you. Have you ever done an endurance race or triathlon/Ironman? I’ve contemplated doing a sprint triathlon, but since biking isn’t something I enjoy or something that I’m good at, I’ve always found a reason to not sign up. Since I am no expert in this area of fitness, I reached out to my friend and YMCA instructor, Tony, to share his story of how he got into endurance racing and ways for you to start getting into it if it’s something you’re interested in. I hope you enjoy Tony’s post on this topic- he’s a huge inspiration to push past unnecessary boundaries and to prove the “I can’t” in me wrong.

*****

Hello vino and fitness fans. I’m Tony, a guest blogger for Burpees to Bubbly. My friend and fellow Oak Square Y group instructor, Monique, asked me to guest blog, and how could I pass up writing a spot for my favorite blog! Ah yes, fitness and wine, two things I never, ever go without.

Tony 1

I’m a marathoner, Masters swim coach, swim instructor, triathlete and triathlon coach.  That’s right, I’m that breed of fitness enthusiasts that swims, bikes and runs… typically across distances that people wouldn’t even want to drive. More broadly I like the term endurance enthusiast, but most of the time people just call me crazy!

I started a little over 11 years ago. After running my first marathon I decided to set my sights on a little something called the Ironman, a triathlon requiring you to swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles and then run a marathon (26.2 miles). You’re probably saying to yourself why would anyone want to sign up for that torture? (And pay lots of money to do it I might add.) Triathlon is a great sport and it’s actually the fastest growing sport in the nation, causing people to increasingly used it as their means of staying in shape. I like “long course” events (Ironman and half Ironman).  But it’s not universally super human type A personalities that complete these races; most triathlons are actually completed by everyday people doing what they call Sprints (½ mile swim, 10 mile bike, and 5k run). There’s also the Olympic distance (0.93 mile, 25 mile bike, 10k run) and of course relays (3 people do a different leg). These are much more manageable to the average human, and your social and wallet/purse will thank you. I teach Indoor Triathlon at the Oak Square Y. It’s 30 minutes swimming, 30 minutes in the cycling studio and 25 minutes running. It’s very popular and attracts new and experienced triathletes.

Tony 2

Back when I started, I didn’t know how to swim. Yup that’s right.  Believe it or not, I learned how to swim as an adult. I remember signing up for a swim class at the Oak Square Y. The class was called intermediate stroke. I told the instructor that I took the class because I wanted to prepare for an Ironman. “Let me see you swim” she says. I got in and “tried” to swim one length of the pool and basically put together a series of movements that did not remotely resemble any known swim stroke. The instructor probably had to restrain her laughter, and then she basically expressed derision because I signed up for a class I clearly was not ready for. The irony in the whole thing is that I now teach that same class and people do the same thing to me.

Well, needless to say I learned how to swim, and very well. I caught fire with what I call, self-propelled motion fitness. Today I’m a 4x Ironman distance triathlon finisher. I’ve finished over 100 long course endurance events over 11 years including numerous half Ironman races, century bike rides, over 40 marathons of which, 12 are consecutive Boston Marathon finishes. I started my own coaching business and team several years ago. The formidable EventHorizon endurance sport where I help train people for endurance sports with the science of self-propelled motion. I’m sure Monique won’t mind that I threw in that shameless plug. 🙂

One of the biggest challenges with newer triathletes is the “stuff” you have to get. Almost every month I get an email from someone saying “Tony, how much of this stuff do I really need?” Wetsuit, triathlon racing kit, cap, goggles, and probably the biggest expense of the triathlete- the bike and everything you have to get for the bike (clipless pedals, bike shoes, apparel…etc). Thankfully the biggest costs is for stuff you only have to get once. Here’s a photo of me with my first triathlon bike that I ride to this day. I call him Dark Matter. Of course if you’re a cool triathlete you have to name your bike.Tony 3

One of the biggest benefits of triathlon is you get into incredible shape. People think of triathlon as a sport only having cardiovascular benefits, but self-propelled motion activities build a tremendous amount of strength. You’ll start seeing your body composition take a shape that would make a fitness model jealous. Here’s some advice for you: get your significant other into triathlon and I guarantee that you’ll both reap the benefits. I’ve trained several clients for long course events, and when I see their significant others, they ask me “so Tony when are you going to start training “insert name” for another Ironman.” Hmmm I say, I think you’re asking me this for a reason that might be slightly self-serving.

The time commitment is considerable for long course triathlons but my advice for people interested is to start with a short course event, a good program or consider talking to a coach for help. I actually know of a pretty good one. 😉

Last year my big event was the Indoor Ironman Guinness World Record attempt at the Oak Square YMCA. We attempted to break the Guinness World Record for the fastest time to complete an Ironman all Indoors! I actually applied to get this accepted as a record and won. That was the first battle. To complete the indoor Ironman, I had to swim 2.4 miles in the pool (169 lengths), bike 2.4 miles on an indoor bike, and run a marathon on a treadmill! I know you’ve probably thought I’d lost my mind attempting this. But, it was all to benefit the Y’s Annual Fund to help families in need of health & wellness services and after school programs. The record was 8 hours and for comparison that’s a speed only seen by professional triathletes on outdoor Ironman courses.

Tony 4

So many people came out to support the event. People swam along side me, biked and ran with me throughout the entire day. We had to document and record everything just in case we broke the record. I trained for this harder than any event and I was in the best shape that I had ever been. My times in training were faster than ever and my body composition was as lean and strong as ever.

Tony 5

It was a crazy day that included a fire alarm in the middle of the event (I kept going). It was overcast for the entire day, but as soon as I got on the treadmill, the sun came out. As you can see from the pics I was in the atrium which was like a glass fish bowl. A greenhouse effect caused a spike in temperature. This surely doomed my chances at the record. I felt horrible by the last hour and had to interval the last few miles on the treadmill.

Tony 6

My finishing times were about 1 hour and 13 minutes on the swim about 3 hrs and 25 minutes on the bike and about 3 hours and 50 minutes on the marathon.

Tony 7

I ended up at a total of 8 hours and 30 minutes, about 30 minutes shy of the record. Do I want another swing at it? Hell yeah! I had a lot of fun and raised nearly $6,000 for charity. I guess it’s not bad for a guy who, in the very same facility, once upon a time, couldn’t swim one length of the pool.

So what’s going on with me now? This year I finished the Boston Marathon again for the 12th consecutive time. I always look forward running Boston and will keep the streak alive for as long as I can. What a historic outcome with Meb Keflezighi being the first American to win Boston in decades. Here’s a shot of Meb and I outside of the World Trade Center.

Tony 8

I’m still considering what races that I will do. Having completed so many events I spend more time helping other people achieve their race goals and my race schedule is much more pulled back these days. But before you know it, I’ll be back on another crusade for sure. 🙂

Well, I enjoyed writing this, but it’s time for me to hand this back to Monique. Burpees and Bubbly fans, I have an assignment for you: I need all of you to encourage Monique to do her first triathlon. If you think it would be AWESOME for Monique to do her first triathlon and chronicle her experience on Burpees to Bubbly, place a very enthusiastic comment below! Let’s see how many people will comment and convince her!  🙂 See you folks.

*****

Wow! How’s that for an incredible story?! The fact that Tony has completed so many endurance races is mind-boggling to me! I actually remember going into the Y to teach on the day that Tony was doing his indoor Ironman and thinking to myself: I’m dead after teaching a 1 hour class… he’s been at this for 3 hours at this point- that’s insane!

I’d love to hear from all of you! Have you ever completed a triathlon (of any distance) or other endurance race? What was it like? Hardest part? Does this post make you want to do one? I’m now really interested in doing a sprint triathlon… maybe I’ll look for a race in the fall!

Again, big thanks to Tony for sharing his story and hopefully inspiring all of you like he did me!

This Week: Workouts, New Job & Things I’m Looking Forward To {MIAMI!!!}

Good morning! I’m about to head out for my first day of work at my new job- eek!! On top of starting a new job, this week is a little crazy since the boy- let’s refer to him as RM from now on since those are his initials- and I are heading out to Miami for a little long weekend getaway on Friday. Have any of you ever been there? Where should we eat? What should we do? We aren’t looking for a hectic vaca- we really just want to chill out and- gasp- relax! What a thought, right?! It’s not necessarily the most convenient time to be going away with starting a new job and all, but this was planned well before the job thing happened so I’m just going with it 🙂

But, since I have 4 days until I’m on vaca, let’s focus on workouts. My workouts last week were a little all over the place, and the same will probably be the case this week.

Last Week’s Workouts

  • Monday- Since I ran on my planned rest day last week, Monday ended up being a rest day, more or less. My sister and I went for a nice, long hour long walk all around Eastie- it was awesome!
  • Tuesday- I was able to go to a 10 am class at a nearby BSC since I wasn’t working . I was looking forward to it because I’ve heard the instructor is really good, but sadly, I was not a fan. I didn’t like the class at all, actually- the instructor had weird music with vulgar language and kept yelling things like “BURN FAT!!! BURN CALORIES!!! DON’T THINK ABOUT QUITTING- PUSH YOURSELVES”… and I just wasn’t a fan!
  • Wednesday- I went to the East Boston YMCA and ran for 20 minutes on the treadmill (also ran there, which was .6 miles), walked for 10 minutes and completed 2 circuit workouts (see below). It was a good workout even though I wasn’t feeling good (stupid allergies!). I also taught my UXF Burn class and tried to not do much of the workout since I had dinner plans with my sister after.

Complete 3 sets of 10 reps in set 1 and then the same for set 2:

Set 1:

BOSU Push-Ups

Opposite Knee to Elbow Plank

Standing Weighted Side Dips

Upright Rows

Set 2:

BOSU Squats

Standing Oblique Twists on BOSU

Underhand Grip Rows

Triceps Kickbacks

Thursday- I taught my SHRED and Cardio Kickboxing classes. In SHRED we did a format I haven’t done in a while: 5 minutes lower body exercises, 5 minutes cardio, 5 minutes upper body exercises, 5 minutes cardio, 5 minutes combined exercises and 5 minutes core. It was good- perhaps I’ll post it for you!

  • Friday- Since I had not been feeling well all week, I decided to rest on Friday. I did walk a ton- probably 3 miles, but nothing else. I got a massage which was wonderful!
  • Saturday-I taught my cardio kickboxing class at the Oak Square YMCA and I think it was a good one! Sad I won’t be there for 2 weeks now 😦
  • Sunday- I ended up running 6 (!!!) miles… with an 8:13 min/mile pace!! I planned on doing 3 or 4, but felt great and the weather was perfect so I kept going. I haven’t run more than 5 miles since the fall of 2008. I also did a little circuit halfway through my run consisting of: 10 reps and 4 rounds of push-ups, tricep dips, plank with opposite knee to elbow crunch, in & outs and side planks with hip drops (right and left). Solid way to round out a run!

IMG_7567

This Week’s Workouts

  • Monday- To start my first day of work out on the right foot, I will get up and workout in the morning. If I’m sore from my run yesterday, I’ll do some light cardio and then just lift.
  • Tuesday- I would love to workout in the morning again so that I can have the afternoon off to get stuff done for my upcoming trip: pedicure, packing, etc.
  • Wednesday- I’ll head to the gym after work to teach my UXF Burn class. Hoping I won’t have an issue with traffic.
  • Thursday- I will teach SHRED and Kickboxing- I’m stressing about the traffic situation, though. I think my hours will end up being 7:30-4:30, but I’m not sure an hour is enough time to get from Wakefield to Central Square that late in the day. I may have to do a 7-4 shift or something those days. I’m not sure what my first week will be like, but they do know my teaching schedule so hopefully it won’t be a problem!
  • Friday- I may get up and do a little core work/stretching/yoga before we head to the airport (9:15 flight), otherwise it will be a rest day.
  • Saturday/Sunday/Monday- Not sure! I’d love to get a workout in- either a run on the beach or a quickie workout in our hotel room or the gym, but I’m not going to stress about it. I’m really going to focus on relaxing and going with the flow and if a workout isn’t something I feel like doing, I’m not going to stress about it or force it!

Things I’m Looking Forward To

I’m not really sure if I’d say I’m looking forward to starting my new job (more nervous than anything!!), but I am looking forward to getting back on a schedule and seeing how things will be. Let’s face it, though, what I’m looking forward to the most is a little R&R weekend getaway to Miami! I’ve never been before and have heard mixed reviews (we chose Miami because it was the most affordable flight option), but for what we are looking to do: sun, beach, pool, drinks, dinners- it will probably be perfect!

Questions for you: Have you ever been to Miami? Any restaurant suggestions? How do you fit workouts in when you travel? What was the best workout you had last week? What are you looking forward to this week? I love to hear from you 🙂

This Week {A day late}: Workouts, week off and things I’m looking forward to

Good morning! It feels weird posting my Monday post on a Tuesday, but I wanted to spend my day with family yesterday since I was only in Maine for a short period of time. I hope you all had a great day off (if you had one off). I’m feeling pretty fortunate this week as I have the WHOLE WEEK off. Technically, I guess it’s kind of like I’m unemployed since I’m not getting paid, but that’s ok… the new job is right around the corner now!

It’s funny, last week I had half of Wednesday off and all day Thursday and Friday and on Thursday, it wasn’t even noon before I felt bored and lonely. I have issues! The time off is good, though. I’m so busy all the time with work and teaching and blogging and being a girlfriend (<—- did you see that?! woahhh!) and a friend and a sister that I forget what free time feels like. After a few days, though, I get in my groove and appreciate it so much. A little downtime every once and a while is such a wonderful thing, and something I think most of us don’t do enough of. We have so many “obligations” that get in the way.

One fun thing about more time is that I have more flexibility with my workouts… and way more energy to do them. I was laughing last week after my Thursday double because I had so much more energy than normal. It’s not like I have a physical job during the day, but I think the fact of getting up and out of the house early, working all day and going straight to the gym just wipes me out!

Last Week’s Workouts

  • Monday- I did another lunch break workout at the gym in my building. I’m so sad that I won’t have that luxury anymore 😦
  • Tuesday- I got up Tuesday morning and ran a 5K before work. I also did some core work… and something else, but I can’t remember what it was!
  • Wednesday- I actually went to a class! I know the instructor who teaches before me on Wednesday is intense so I figured I would check out her class before teaching my own. It was a really great class and totally challenged me. UXF Burn was also a fun class- we worked hard and did LOTS of burpees.
  • Thursday- I taught a stations circuit class in SHRED and then taught cardio kickboxing. It was great to have lots of energy to get me through both classes!
  • Friday- I got up and attempted a workout but didn’t get very far. Looking back, it was a dumb move. I was tired and sore and should have just slept or foam rolled, but instead I got up and tried to push myself until I realized: a. I didn’t have it in me and b. I was too sore. I knew I likely wouldn’t be working out on Sunday so I wanted to get something in on Friday, but since I did a double on Wednesday and Thursday, working out on Friday was not necessary. It’s all about quality over quantity, but stupidly, I had quantity over quality on the brain. Although I’m good at giving advice of listening to your body and not over doing it, I have a hard time following it myself. There are times when I just need to know a crappy workout isn’t the right choice. Oh well.
  • Saturday- I was finally back at the Oak Square YMCA for my cardio kickboxing class and it felt great! There was a pretty good crowd considering it was a holiday weekend.

IMG_7442

  • Sunday- I wasn’t planning on working out, but the boy and I were in the Twin Mountain area in NH and I was wide awake and bounding with energy (he was sleeping off the booze from the night before…) so I headed out for a 3 mile run and my standing ab workout. I feel like I just did that workout but yesterday my core, especially my obliques, was so sore!

This Week’s Workouts

  • Monday- My sister and I went on a nice hour long walk throughout East Boston.
  • Tuesday- My plan today is to go to a 10am class at the Wellington BSC.
  • Wednesday- I’m going to dinner with my sister after teaching UXF Burn, so I will workout during the day at some point and just instruct in my class.
  • Thursday- Teaching my double: SHRED and Cardio Kickboxing
  • Friday- I bought a deal for a massage at Exhale Spa, so I would like to book a massage on Friday. Before the massage, I’d like to take a class- either a Core Fusion Cardio or maybe a yoga class?
  • Saturday- Teaching my second Saturday in a row at the Oak Square YMCA- yay!
  • Sunday- I will be in Maine (Zeke turns 1 on Saturday so I’ll be up there for the birthday party!) so I may go for a run or a walk.

Things I’m Looking Forward To

I’m looking forward to having time off! On top of that, time off with no real plans. It’s the weirdest feeling to know I don’t have to get ready for a week of work, packing lunches, planning out my days, etc. This week I hope to get caught up on lots of blog posts that I’ve wanted to write, as well as make other blog updates that I generally don’t have the time to make. I can’t wait to finally get a much needed massage- I shouldn’t push that to the back burner so often. Lastly, I’m excited to go to Zeke’s first birthday party on Saturday. I cannot believe he is already 1!!!

Questions for you: What was the best workout you had last week? Do you ever go for quantity over quality when it comes to workouts? What are you looking forward to this week?
