It seems as though I say “that was the best wedding ever!” after every friends’ wedding. Waking up the morning after Nikia and Kyle’s wedding, my mind was thinking that same exact thing. We danced, we laughed, we cried, we loved. It was such a beautiful, wonderful wedding with so much love that it was hard to not think it was perfect!
RM and I got stuck in massive amounts of traffic when we left on Friday afternoon, but we finally got to Chittenden, VT around 8pm. Lucky for us, most of our friends had just arrived and we were greeted with a big ol’ glass of wine! The wedding festivities were held at the beautiful Mountain Top Inn, which was perfect since they had large houses for renting in addition to normal hotel rooms. Since there were 11 of us in our group (SMC girls plus some of our significant others), we opted to rent a house. The house was HUGE and could’ve fit probably 5 more people comfortably! There was a nice, big kitchen/living room/dining room area, 5 bedrooms and bathrooms, a whole separate living area downstairs including a kitchen. It seemed like it just went on and on!
After we finished catching up, we sat down for “family dinner”. My friend Jess picked up some chicken parm and eggplant parm from Bricco and it totally hit the spot!
Kia and Kyle were having people over the house they rented, so after dinner we headed there. I thought it was just going to be a few people, but it was legit a house party!
Saturday morning, we woke to a gorgeous day! This picture doesn’t do the views much justice, but trust me- it was quite the site!
The girls all had 9:30 spa appointments, so we were up and out! The salon was great and set up a little mimosa table for us.
So much fun! The rest of the day was spent relaxing until it was time to head to the ceremony. I loved that they held it outside, even though it was quite chilly. It had started snowing a little earlier which made for quite a pretty backdrop! Everything from the snow to the horse drawn carriage arrival to the heartfelt vows was perfect. The love Kia and Kyle have is incredible!
When the ceremony ended, we made the short walk to the reception area and treated ourselves to some delicious passed apps and vino. The rest of the night was awesome. The speeches were heartfelt, the band was fantastic, the food was delicious and the dancing was nonstop! Literally, I kept trying to take a break to get a drink but there was rarely a song that I didn’t mind not dancing to, so I ended up staying on the dance floor pretty much the whole night. We danced before the salad and between each course. It doesn’t get much better than that in my eyes! Kia also surprised Kyle by playing the saxophone and joining the band. Apparently she had been taking lessons leading up to the wedding and it was so cool to see her up there killing it on the sax!
As you can tell by the photos, it was one hell of a wedding! I am so incredibly happy for these two and can’t wait to see the next journey of their lives unfold. They are such a fun, loving, adventurous couple! Here’s to a lifetime of love and happiness for you two! Thanks for including us in your special day. xoxo
Questions for you: Have you ever been to an outdoor wedding in the snow? What’s your favorite part about weddings? Do you play any instruments?
