Playing Catch-Up

Hi there! It’s been a while since I’ve posted, huh? Last week was one of those weeks where I had really wanted to post at the beginning of the week, but didn’t have time because I was helping RM with some stuff and then by the time that freed up and I had time to blog, I just didn’t feel like it. But, I’m back today and hopefully at least a few more times throughout the week because I missed blogging and missed all of you!

Although last week was busy, it was a good week! I was able to head down to our new office location in Rockland to work for a day, I taught some fun classes, I got in a lot of great workouts and RM and I had a really amazing weekend on the Cape. All in all, no complaints here except for the fact that it’s already Monday again 😉

Loved having Athena in class last week!

IMG_6008

I had exactly 27 minutes to get in my own workout and get ready to teach my class last week… it’s amazing what you can get done in 20 minutes!

IMG_6026

Congrats to the winner of the giveaway at the class I taught at Legacy Place last week!

IMG_6028

Went to an awesome class at B/Spoke Cape House– I woke up with a not-so-lovely wine headache so it felt good to sweat all of that out!

IMG_6030

On Saturday night, RM and I headed into Hyannis for a change of pace. We went to a little restaurant called Naked Oyster and had some delicious oysters & shrimp, clam chowder, salad and scallops. Everything was fantastic- I highly suggest checking it out if you’re in the area.

IMG_6035

We had two amazingly perfect beach days!

IMG_6044

We came home to a Just Add Cooking delivery and I whipped up one of their meals last night and it was fantastic- more to come on that!

And that about sums up the weekend! As for this week, if you’re looking to sweat with me you have 3 chances:

  • Tonight, 6:30pm “Seaport Sweat” cardio kickboxing on the greenery area outside of Gather & District Hall. It’s free, there’s a live DJ and it’s outside- that combination makes for a great class!
  • Tomorrow night, 6pm Bags & Beats at GymIt in Watertown
  • Saturday, 10am Cardio kickboxing at the Oak Square YMCA

I hope you have a great start to your week- chat with you later!

Questions for you: What’s going on in your life these days? Anything new or exciting? How was your weekend? Did you get to the beach or get any good workouts in? What’s on your agenda this week?

Weekending & Preparing for the “Big Move”

Good morning! It’s hard to believe we are entering into our LAST week of summer, huh? I mean, I know September generally bodes good weather, but it’s crazy to think that Labor Day Weekend is right around the corner. The Cape seemed to be a bit quieter than normal this past weekend, and I wonder if it’s because a lot of schools have already started so people don’t hang around as long on Sundays anymore? Whatever the reason, I’ll take it! Here are some pictures from the weekend- it was a good one!

Part of our dinner on Friday night- whipped up this delicious quinoa salad… hope to share it with you this week!

RM had a bunch of stuff to do for one of the apartments he’s renting so after I taught I went to the beach in East Boston for a few hours.

IMG_2406

Ahhh, finally made it to the Cape just in time for cocktail hour 😉

IMG_2410

Have you guys tried these Spiked Seltzers? I loveeedd it and want to try more flavors!

IMG_2411

Soaking up the sun on a beautiful Sunday beach day. The water was the perfect temp and was so fun to play in!

IMG_2413

Traffic was on our side on the way home, too- love when that happens 🙂 What I don’t love, though? Is packing… it’s just the worst. I haven’t talked much about it on the blog, but RM and I have decided to move in together! We are moving into a house his family owns in Watertown/Newton Corner and while I’m sad to leave East Boston and the “city” life, it will be nice to have a bigger apartment… with a yard… and a big driveway, so even though we won’t be a few short T stops into the city anymore, it will be nice to have all of those things. Plus, I think it’s going to be a lot of fun living together and it is going to make my life so much easier because I won’t have to pack a bag and head to his place every night like I’ve been doing for the past year+.

While I’m a little nervous about moving in with a guy (this is a first for me!), I definitely feel like it’s the right time and something I really want to do. We spend so much time together anyway, that it will be nice to be able to do that in a place of our own, which is much different than doing it at his apartment, even though I feel super comfortable there. I’m sure there will be some adjustments that we will both have to make, but at the end of the day, I think our lives in terms of living will mesh really well together and I’m excited to have someone to come home to every night! I’m also excited to cook and shop together (even though we already do this all the time now) and have one “home base” to share so that no matter what our schedules are like, we know we will at least both be going to bed together every night.

So, I’m moving out of my place on Thursday and then we are both moving to Watertown officially on Tuesday the 8th. I know you’re probably going “why wouldn’t you just move in at the same date together?!”, and I get it… we are questioning the same thing! I think originally the plan was to have me moved out in early September so the new renters could move in. They are doing some renovations to the apartment we are moving into (new countertops, new sink, new dishwasher, new stove, putting in a washer and a dryer, etc.), so we were hoping to have that finished before officially moving in, which is why his move date is a few days out past mine. It’s going to be a little chaotic, but hopefully things will go smoothly!

I’m hoping to keep my blogging fairly regular over the next few weeks, but if I seem to go silent, at least you’ll know why 🙂

Questions for you: What was the best part of your weekend? Have you tried the spiked seltzers? Do you feel ready for summer to end? Any tips for moving in with your significant other?

Weekending: Girls night, Cape Weekend & Boston Sunday Funday

Good morning! Although we ended up leaving the Cape early on Sunday due to crap weather, it was a really fun weekend! Here’s a picture recap- with some descriptions, because I love words! My girlfriends and I went to Brewers Fork in Charlestown on Thursday night for my friend Jessi’s birthday- if you’re looking for good pizza, I suggest checking it out. We all loved it!

IMG_2157

Sunset on the way home.. yes, we were on our way home before 8pm. We have officially gotten old because our weeknight get together events end early.

IMG_2158

Since I took a rest day on Thursday (more on that tomorrow), I went to the gym on Friday. I did an Jill Fit workout and felt it was appropriate for a #flexfriday post 😉

IMG_2161

Friday night, RM and I headed to the Cape for the weekend and stopped at the local Cotuit hang-out, the Kettle Ho for dinner. Mom- how about this pour of Kendall Jackson?

Weekending: A Boston Summer Weekend

It’s crazy to think that we spent all of last weekend in Boston. I can’t remember the last time we did that during the summer months and even though I had wished we were at the Cape since the weather was so gorgeous, it was so nice just being close to home and not having to deal with summer traffic! Here’s a picture-focused post with the weekend highlights- enjoy!

  • Making good use of time by going for a walk while waiting for my oil to get changed

IMG_2083

  • Beautiful sky on my way to dinner with some friends in the North End

IMG_2092

  • Saturday afternoon at the beach

IMG_2095

IMG_2101

  • Dinner and margs at Tico in the Back Bay- absolutely delicious!

IMG_2103 IMG_2104 IMG_2105 IMG_2106

  • To get some movement in on my rest day, I walked to church and then walked to Shaws and the liquor store- it was a heavy walk home!

IMG_2109

  • Delicious fruit salad that I whipped together before going to a pool party

IMG_2114

  • I could get used to this- absolutely gorgeous!

IMG_2116 IMG_2124

  • Hazy, hot and humid during my morning 4 miler- so happy to have done it first thing!

Questions for you: What did you do this weekend? Did you go anywhere or stay local? How did you survive the heat? Do you prefer the beach or pool?

Weekending: Gillette Stadium, Sushi & the Cape

Good morning! I’ve been enjoying the posts where I share a glimpse into my weekend, or even week, in some cases- hope you find them interesting, too! My weekend felt like it started on Thursday since my company had it’s summer outing at Gillette Stadium that day, which meant I had loads of extra time in the morning to sleep in a bit and get to the gym- I could get used to mornings like that!

IMG_1897

I may not be a big sports fan (or even a little sports fan), but I have to say it was still pretty cool to spend the day there, having drinks, getting a private tour of the stadium and getting to go on the field.

After finally getting home (took 2 hours because of ridiculous traffic), RM came over and we grilled up some burgers and enjoyed a nice dinner on the deck. This is a reason why I will never be able to live somewhere without access to the outside- it’s just such a nice reprieve from crazy city life.
