Here is my third and final recap post of my recent trip to San Francisco! If you missed the others, you can find them here:
San Francisco: Part 1 Recap
San Francisco Recap: Part 2 {Wine Country!}
Sunday was such a great day in San Francisco- the weather was gorgeous (again), Kelly didn’t have to work and we didn’t have any “real” plans… the day was ours for whatever we wanted 🙂 All of us woke up pretty early and decided to head out on the 2 mile trek to have breakfast at the Buena Vista Café to indulge in some of their famous Irish Coffees. While I’m not a coffee drinker, nor am I a whiskey drinker, I have to say that these Irish Coffees were ahhhmazing!
I went simple with breakfast, which is usually how I like to start my day.
After we finished eating, I played tourist on the trolley and then we walked up the steepest road I’ve ever walked on in order to get to the top of Lombard Street.
Although I had driven down Lombard Street during my first visit to SF, I was excited to walk down it this time! The flowers weren’t really in bloom yet, but it was fun to see all the tourists (including us haha)!
We then went and did some shopping/walking around on Polk Street, Union Street and Chestnut Street before stopping for an afternoon wine and cheese rest break at Bin 38.
Sunday night, Kelly hosted and Oscars party. The best thing about being on the West Coast for nights like that? The festivities start and end early! We had a really fun selection of party food and drinks and it was fun relaxing and getting to know Kelly’s friends better.
Amanda took the redeye home that night and I had an early flight the next morning… neither one of us were ready to go home!!
Huge thank you to Kelly for being such a wonderful host… hostess with the mostess, as I say! She certainly made our trip so memorable and I literally cannot wait to get back out there for another visit!
Questions for you: Do you like Irish Coffees? Have you ever been on a trolley car? Do you host parties for award shows?
would love to go back to SF sometime–great city. I love Boston Girl–so enjoyable-only a few more spages to read and I will look for Girl on the Train today when Emma and I go to library!!

I would love to take my mom there- and have you and Jeanne come! What a fun trip that would be. I can’t wait to read Boston Girl! I need to buy Girl on the Train still.
I am not an Irish Coffee drinker either but when we went to San Fran we went there too. Those hills are no joke, I ran the San Fran Marathon and legit almost cried on all the hills, but the views were so worth it! The Oscar’s spread looks AMAZING!
that’s so funny that you went there, too! I don’t know how you ran a marathon in SF- I would have died.
