Yikes. How am I just one year away from no longer being in my twenties? It’s really crazy to think about, actually. I spent some time on Sunday reflecting on the past year, and you know what? Twenty Eight was pretty awesome. Not only did I have the chance to do so many really great things and go on some fun trips, but I found a lot out about myself. I guess living alone will do that to you. I’ve realized that I should try and slow down, and although this is still very challenging for me, being aware of it is a step in the right direction. I’ve opened up and shared some deeper posts and have enjoyed connecting with those of you who read and comment here- your support really does mean the world to me.
Here are some of the highlights from the past year- I love that I have everything documented!
- I moved into my own apartment, which although it was a little scary, it was the best thing for me. Sometimes I miss having others around, but with my crazy busy schedule, I don’t usually have time to even notice! And it’s really nice coming home to a quiet house after a long day. Just sayin’…
- I went on some good work trips and did a lot of valuable net working.
- I ran my first Spartan Race, which was pretty much the best race ever! I also did a Spartan Spartan Training, which wasn’t the best, but it was still a fun experience.
- I had the chance to attend a number of fun fitness blogging events (Wellness By The Water Retreat, Exhale Spa: Core Fusion Fest, Indoor Cycling at Flywheel, ClassPass in Review: Thoughts & Reviews of Classes).
- I went on a really great road trip to Michigan with my family (Family Road Trip: Recap {Day 1- Boston to Buffalo}, Family Road Trip: Recap {Day 2 & the Wedding}).
- My sister and I had a little weekend getaway vacation in Chicago. (Chicago: Part1 {Shopping and Bar Hopping}, Chicago: Part 2 {The Bean, Navy Pier, Boat Tour, Brewery}, Chicago: Part 3 {Brunching, Architecture Tour, Homemade Dinner})
- My fitness “career” has grown and I’m so fortunate for the people I’ve met and opportunities I have had.
- I spent a lot of time with friends, making great memories.
- Two of my very close friends welcomed baby boys into the world, and I couldn’t have been more excited for them. I love watching the two boys grow up!
- I started dating someone and am really enjoying where it’s going so far.
- I’ve taken advantage of the gorgeous parks throughout East Boston by going on a number of runs and walks.
- I threw a fun housewarming party– and can’t wait to have another one once the weather gets warmer!
This list is really just a high-level glimpse into my year last year, but even if that’s all I did last year, I’d still think it was pretty fantastic. If 29 is anywhere near as great as 28, I’m in for a good ride. I hope you’ll stick with me during my journeys this year đ
Happy Birthday Monique from Jane at PJâs Unique Peek!!
Thanks, Jane! See you on Saturday đ
I think that 28 looks like it was a great year but feel sure 29 is going to be even better!!
I think you’re right đ I’m excited!
