Oh hello there! Remember me? I used to post workouts for you on a weekly basis as a way to share what I do and to hopefully give you ideas or inspire you to get moving. The holidays definitely got the best of me, but rather than stressing about getting posts published, I decided to step away for a bit and focus on being more present in the activities I was doing (laying on the couch qualifies as an activity, right? 😉 ). The break was fantastic and not only did I have extra time with friends/family, I had extra time to try out new workouts on my own at the gym. Fancy that!
I’ve got a bunch of workouts stockpiled to share with you throughout the next few weeks, so I hope you’re as excited as I am (I’m also excited to throw away the scrap pieces of paper I’ve got laying around with the workouts scribbled on them!)!
You’ll notice a bit of a change in the style of workouts that I’m going to be posting… rather than long, complicated, letsdoeveryexerciseicanthinkof workouts, I’ve made a switch to picking some exercises based on what I feel like doing and repeating them for time or for rounds. What I like about this style of workout is that you get a lot accomplished in a short amount of time. I’ve been doing morning workouts and lunch break workouts which just don’t allow for me to be at the gym for an hour doing them. And, quite frankly, I’ve realize I don’t NEED to be at the gym for an hour! If I can bang out a workout in 20-30 minutes and feel spent, why would I want to be there any longer?
So, here’s your first one- I ran 2 miles on the treadmill before completing this and wish I had only run 1 mile because I struggled with the energy to finish this workout strong!
All of the moves require a medicine ball, which is one of my favorite “toys” at the gym these dates. It’s such a versatile piece of equipment that can be used for cardio, strength, core, agility… you name it!
Let me know if you try this 🙂
Questions for you: Have you made a shift in your workouts recently? What do you look to incorporate when you’re planning a workout? Do you like medicine balls?
This looks awesome – I need to get back to doing multiple things (running and some toning!!) in one workout and short ones like this are perfect!
i’m really loving the short, effective workouts- while I love working out, I’ve realized there are so many other things I can be doing with extra time!
